2023 WSC 1 elimination round begins

The two-cock elimination round of the first World Slashers Cup tournament for 2023 begins on January 26 at the historic Smart Araneta Coliseum.

A total of 195 entries registered and will battle out to become the next champions of the world’s most prestigious and long-standing cockfighting event.

On the first day of the elimination rounds, 72 entries survived and will advance to the 3-cock semi-final rounds.

Among the top fighters battling it out in the semi-finals are Biboy Enriquez, Miggy Arayata, Jerry Celeste/Raul Panizal, Ito Ynares/Patrick Mallare/R. Medina, John Seiner/Johnny Moore, Enrique Burgarin, Antonio/William, Edgardo Go/Dennis Lumpay, Albert Dechavez, M. Pua/ L. Montenegro, Precious Grace Labios/Roel Ola, Doni/A1RC, Pol Estrellado, Ayong Lorenzo, James Atienza/Dodoy Diaz, Belle Almojera, Francis "Iskul" Juan, Butch Cambra/John Flores/Julius De Guzman, Gerome David/Marc Cruz, Adrian Manalansan, Danny Lim, Neil Figueroa, James Uy/Papa Bravo, Gary Tubianosa/Jay Soria/Nelson Garcia, Rocky Sarmento, PADZBARR, Justin and Jeremy Berin, and Mario Siochi Jr., all with 2-0 records each after the elimination round.

Ernesto Mercado and Wilfredo Sembrano Jr. will also move on to the semi-finals after scoring 1.5 points in the elimination round. Other fighters with 1-1 records each will also advance to the semi-finals.

The winners of the semi-finals will move on to the four-cock pre-finals on January 31 and grand finals on February 1 wherein a new champion will be crowned.
