Big Dome officially opens PBA Season 47

The country's major basketball league officially opened its 47th season on June 5, 2022 in its original home in Araneta City -- Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Present during the star-studded opening ceremony are PBA teams that will compete in the season's all-Filipino conference and their beautiful muses:

  • Magnolia Hotshots (with Michelle Dee)

The new PBA season opened with the Converge-Rain or Shine and Magnolia-TNT matchups, which ended with Tropang Giga (the defending PBA champs) and the Elasto Painters securing the first wins of the season.

For its 47th season, PBA returns to its regular three-conference format (Philippine Cup, Commissioner's Cup, and Governors' Cup). The all-Filipino conference will run until September 2, the Commissioner's Cup will be played from October 2 to January 25, and the season-ending Governor's Cup is set from February 1 to May 10.
