The Smart Araneta Coliseum has officially opened the week-long mega COVID-19 vaccination program of the Quezon City local government. The Araneta Group offered to the LGU the free use of its facility to roll out the City’s mass vaccination program.
The inoculation activity at the Big Dome will run daily from May 15 until May 21, 2021.
The vaccination center in the Coliseum is staffed with 18 Quezon City public doctors, 12 health personnel from Barangay Soccoro, and volunteers from the Tzu Chi Medical Foundation Philippines.
The Araneta Group has also provided 3 medical doctors and 6 nurses to assist in the vaccination program.
Antonio T. Mardo, SVP for Operations of the Araneta Group, said the company has provided security and ensured proper ventilation in the venue.
"The Araneta Group is closely working with the Quezon City local government to maintain the safe and efficient conduct of vaccination in the Big Dome. We are expecting a huge number of people to come here, so we want to make sure that we keep safety first in the City of Firsts," according to Mardo.
Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte earlier said that Smart Araneta Coliseum is capable of delivering 1,000 to 1,500 COVID shots per day. The inoculation program covers residents 60 years and older and individuals with comorbidity, or those belonging to A1 to A3 priority groups.
Qualified residents may register and book a schedule via the EzConsult website. Walk-ins will not be allowed.
